Neurodivergent Affirming Practice
Neurodivergent Affirming therapy steers away from seeing the clients neurotype as inherently "bad" or in need of fixing to become neurotypical. The therapeutic journey should give considerable room for Personal Expression. Whether that be through art, music, writing, diverse spiritual practices or finding resonance in multi-media, gaming or sub/culture affiliation. The Geek Therapy Affinity-Based Approach acknowledges these as part of your identity. These can be incorporated in ways that provide validation, a sense of safety and a familiar language for expressing difficult emotions.
